Brazil’s Supreme Court Accepts Charges Against Bolsonaro in Alleged Coup Plot.


 Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will stand trial for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2022 election, with Brazil’s Supreme Court unanimously accepting charges against him and seven others. Bolsonaro and 33 others were charged with crimes including attempting a coup d’état, with prosecutors alleging plans to assassinate President Lula da Silva and other officials. Bolsonaro denies wrongdoing, calling the case a "political trial." If convicted, he faces up to 28 years in prison. The court will decide on the remaining accused later.
